The delay and ongoing uncertainty around SNAP benefits has prompted many in our community to take notice, and take action. The Heard County Food Pantry, a program of Heard County Community Partnership, plans to add two distributions in the month of November in an effort to reach more families who need a little extra help this month. Through generous financial contributions from community members and businesses, volunteer support from local churches, and canned food drives from student groups, the Heard County community is coming together to support our neighbors in need. Here’s how you can help:

  • Financial donations in any amount can be made through a variety of methods (see flyer below).
  • Tell those in your circle who need additional support about the distributions available in November (see calendar).
  • Hold a food drive at your office or church—shelf-stable vegetables, fruits, and proteins are always in demand.

You may contact Rachel Schory at 706-675-5344 to arrange pick up or drop off of any donations, or for more information about volunteering with the pantry.

If someone you know needs food assistance and lives in Heard County, they may call 706-616-7042 or email mary.jones@heardcountyga.com for more information on how to access local pantries. Additional area resources can be found here.
